Pride Vermont Tradition Continues Under New Community Leadership; Applications Open for Performers and Volunteers

BURLINGTON, VT – July 6, 2026 — The vibrant tradition of the annual Pride Vermont Parade and Festival is officially returning to downtown Burlington this fall.

The parade kicks off Sunday, September 13 at 12:00 p.m., starting on South Winooski Avenue, making its way up Church and Pearl streets and ending at Battery Park, where the festival begins at 1 p.m.

For years, Pride Vermont has been a powerful celebration of visibility, joy, and community in downtown Burlington. It has always been powered by volunteers like you and supported by Pride Center staff. Moving forward, the Pride Center of Vermont will no longer be hosting the September Pride Parade & Festival to focus their efforts on rebuilding year-round programming.

Today, we are excited to announce that in the spirit of community leadership, the torch has been passed to a powerful new coalition of local community groups and organizers including Burly Bear, Out in the 802, Queer VT and the City of Burlington to keep this vital tradition alive.

Following a summer of grassroots activism across the state including June's radical queer liberation at People’s Pride, the September event will bring the community together once more for an autumn of celebration, featuring the traditional, joy-filled parade down Church Street. Visibility has never been more important!

Call for Volunteers and Community Support

Because Pride is powered by the people, the new coalition is actively looking for volunteers, participants, and entertainers to help bring the reimagined festival to life. The Pride Center Board is actively supporting the transition by providing historical planning materials and connecting prior volunteers with the new organizing team.
